Monday mornings are extremely time-consuming. Especially sifting through my inbox so I can see what important tasks I need to tackle. Now instead of spending hours sorting through emails, I’ve developed 3 simple ways to prioritize my inbox and keep it uncluttered.
- Skim the subject lines. 9 times out of 10, you can tell if an email is junk by skimming the subject line. Hit delete and remove it from your inbox immediately.
- Setting inbox rules. Set rules to put emails from specific clients into folders automatically. When viewing your inbox folder, it is easier to see what your clients need.
- Take care of it now. Don’t set a reminder or a flag for your emails. Take care of the request right away. The day gets busy and emails are easily forgotten.
- Only check emails at a specific time. Check your emails 2 or 3 times a day, but only for 30 minutes. If it is an extremely important issues, your client will call. When checking your emails only focus on the emails. Don’t get sidetracked with other things.
